Lesson 1

Journey back to ancient Egypt, where the Nile River carried a mother's act of faith. Witness how Moses' parents risked everything, trusting in God's plan and honoring the sacred worth of every human life.

Lesson 2

Does God hear our prayers? The story of Exodus shows that He does. When the Israelites cried out under the weight of slavery in Egypt, God listened, remembered His promise, and sent Moses to lead them to freedom. But deliverance didn’t come easily. Pharaoh made their suffering worse, forcing them into brutal labor. Through it all, God was working. From the burning bush to the plagues and the parting of the Red Sea, His plan unfolded in ways no one expected. Just as He rescued Israel, He hears us today—ready to lead, comfort, and restore.

Lesson 3

When Moses encountered the burning bush, he heard God's call, but instead of saying yes, he made excuses. He doubted himself, questioned God, and tried to avoid the mission. Yet God had an answer for every excuse, proving that He equips those He calls. This powerful moment in Exodus reminds us that God's plans are bigger than our fears. When He calls, will you trust Him to lead the way?

Lesson 4

The Israelites were trapped in Egyptian slavery, but God was about to show Pharaoh who was truly in charge. From turning the Nile River to blood to the devastating final plague, God displayed His unmatched power over Egypt and its gods. In this episode, we explore the ten plagues from the book of Exodus, Pharaoh’s hardened heart, and how God’s outstretched arm rescued His people. What can we learn from Egypt’s punishment and Israel’s deliverance? Discover the deeper meaning behind these events and what they reveal about God’s plan for His people.

Lesson 5

Why did God command the Israelites to celebrate the Passover every year? In this episode of Lessons from the Land, we look at the original Exodus from Egypt and how the Passover meal served as a powerful reminder of God’s salvation. Every detail—from the lamb’s blood on the doorposts to the way the meal was eaten—was meant to help God’s people remember His deliverance. This tradition continued into the time of Jesus, who shared the Passover with His disciples and established a new memorial: the Lord’s Supper. Remembering God’s past faithfulness builds our trust in Him today—and helps us pass that faith on to future generations.

Lesson 6

The Israelites found themselves trapped—Pharaoh’s army closing in behind them and the vast Red Sea before them. But in this impossible moment, God performed one of the most powerful miracles in the Bible. In this episode of Lessons from the Land, we explore the incredible story from Exodus 14 where God parts the Red Sea, allowing His people to walk through on dry ground while delivering them from Egyptian pursuit. This dramatic moment reveals a timeless truth: God is in control, even when situations seem hopeless. His power is greater than any obstacle, and sometimes, like Moses said, we need only to "stand firm and see the salvation of the Lord." Join us as we reflect on how this ancient event still speaks to our lives today.

Lesson 7

After leading the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt and parting the Red Sea, God brought His people to Mount Sinai to offer something extraordinary—a covenant. In this episode of Lessons from the Land, we explore the powerful moment when God invited Israel into a sacred relationship, promising to make them His treasured possession, a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation—if they would obey His voice and keep His commandments. This covenant, sealed with the giving of the Ten Commandments, set the foundation for Israel’s identity and purpose. And today, through the sacrifice of Jesus, God offers a new covenant—a promise extended to all who choose to follow Him. Join us as we reflect on God’s faithfulness, His desire for relationship, and the beauty of His enduring promises.

Lesson 8

explore one of the most tragic moments in Exodus—the creation of the golden calf. Just days after God made a covenant with the Israelites at Mount Sinai, the people grew impatient waiting for Moses and chose to make an idol of their own. Surrounded by the memory of Egyptian gods and influenced by their past, they traded obedience for a false sense of control. This powerful story reminds us of the danger of creating “gods” of our own making—idols that cannot lead, save, or care for us. True freedom doesn’t come from doing things our way but from trusting the God who rescued us. Don’t miss this episode as we reflect on idolatry, covenant faithfulness, and the importance of waiting on the Lord.

Lesson 9

In this episode of Lessons from the Land: the Exodus, the Appian Media team travels to the wilderness of Sinai and conducts a fun experiment in order to explore the biblical tabernacle—God’s sanctuary among the Israelites. Even after the Israelites forsook Him and built the golden calf, the LORD Jehovah not only forgave His people, but provided them with a way so that He could literally dwell in their midst. We take a closer look at the layout of the tabernacle, the significance of the Ark of the Covenant and the Levitical priesthood. This powerful visual representation of Exodus helps us understand God’s holiness, justice, and desire to be near His people.

Lesson 10

Have you ever REALLY wanted something? You prayed for it, longed for it, and once you got it… You found yourself taking that thing for granted and wishing for me? So did the children of Israel. In this episode of Lessons from the Land: the Exodus, travel through the wilderness with us as we discuss the people’s grumbling to Moses and consider their discontentment, even after God rescued them from Egypt. Discover how God responded with manna from heaven, quail in the camp, and clothes that never wore out. It’s a powerful reminder that God always provides, even if we don’t see it right away. This account from Exodus 16 offers a meaningful reminder of learning to be content with God’s ongoing provision and the importance of trusting Him fully.

Lesson 11

In the harsh environment of the wilderness, the children of Israel journeyed from Egypt to the Promised Land of Canaan, but they were not alone. The LORD went before them, in a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. Even when they doubted and complained, even when the people refused at first to enter the land, the LORD faithfully brought His people through. In this episode of Lessons From the Land: the Exodus, our team travels the wilderness route to Canaan and considers how essential it was that the people relied on the LORD and His provision every step of the way. The road may seem long, but we are never walking it alone.

Lesson 12

Moses’ staff had been used in incredible ways to demonstrate the power of God - from transforming into a snake before Pharaoh to parting the Red Sea. But in one key moment of frustration, Moses disobeyed and dishonored God, and it came at a high price. In this episode of Lessons From the Land: the Exodus, we explore the story behind Israel’s continual grumbling in the wilderness, Moses striking the rock, and what it reveals to us about honor, obedience, and trust in God. Through this dramatic account in Numbers chapter 20., we’re reminded that honoring God means trusting in Him fully, especially when it is hard. This lesson still speaks to our own struggles with frustration, doubt, and choosing to obey in difficult moments.

Lesson 13

As the Israelites stood on the edge of God’s Promised Land of Canaan, Moses gave them a final message - and a warning. A choice between life and death. Blessing and curses. In this episode of Lessons From the Land: the Exodus, we explore the significance of Moses’ final moments and the words spoken from two Mountain tops. Blessings from Mount Gerizim and curses from Mount Ebal, and a modern discovery that may point back to this ancient event. The invitation is before us all: a choice between life and death, blessing and curses, God’s way… or our own.
