While visiting the incredible remains of the city of Capernaum on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, Stuart wonders about Craig's favorite piece of camera gear.

A Personal Tour of the City of Magdala!

Our team was given an unexpected (and greatly appreciated) personal tour of the remains of the city of Magdala on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, including a beautiful synagogue!

Saint Peter's Fish from the Sea of Galilee

We have NEVER eaten fish like this before. A local chef prepared what is known as "Saint Peter's fish" for us on the shore of the Sea of Galilee.

Galilee in Timelapse

Our time in the Galilee region was absolutely breathtaking.

Jesus Walked on THESE STEPS!

Walking in the footsteps of Jesus in the city of Jerusalem and thinking about how He would have traveled up these steps on His way to the temple several times each year.

Contemplating the Birth of Jesus in the City of Bethlehem

Our team was given special access to visit the traditional location of the place where Jesus was born, a cave-like area beneath the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem.

Using New Camera Toys at Caesarea Philippi

Jeremy discusses the incredible opportunity that we had to visit Caesarea Philippi, where Jesus asked His disciples the all-important question: "Who do YOU say that I am?"

We had only a few hours remaining before our first trip to Israel came to an end and our window for finding a shepherd with his sheep was quickly closing...

Shooting Video Overseas Takes a Lot of Gear
The Appian Media production team spent a day prepping and packing all of the gear that will bring Episodes 6-10 of 'Following the Messiah' to life!

How to Shoot Video Internationally: Appian Media Arrives in Israel

After 6 different flights, originating in three different states in the U.S. the Appian Media team assembled in JFK and took the 10 hour flight to return to Israel on July 5th, 2017 to shoot the second half of the "Following the Messiah" series.

New Recruits: Mt. of Olives to the Garden
Appian Media began their first official shooting day up on the Mt. of Olives overlooking the city of Jerusalem and then descended the hill to the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus spent His last night on earth. The new recruits are fitting right in!

Lighting Makes All the Difference
Lighting for a scene can be challenging, and our team found some creative solutions to making the video for our "Following the Messiah" look even better than our last trip!

Images That Took our Breath Away: Church of the Holy Sepulchre
Our team was allowed to capture images and video from inside the various areas of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the traditional site of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The things that we were shown and the footage that we captured was absolutely stunning.

A Special Opportunity: The Temple Mount
We had a unique opportunity to climb the temple mount and visit a very special place: the Temple Mount. This was the site of the many important stories in the life of Jesus and we all were thrilled (and nervous) to capture whatever we could to share with you all.

Timelapse Duty: Daybreak in Jerusalem
Dan, Stuart, and Craig began the day dark and early in order to capture the magic of sunrise over the city of Jerusalem, specifically near the western wall of the temple mount. They were certainly tired, but thrilled to be able to witness something so incredible!

360 Degree Video: Immerse Yourself in the Jerusalem Old City
During our time here in Jerusalem shooting "Following the Messiah," we have spent countless hours in the Old City: immersing ourselves in the colors, sights, sounds, and smells. With 360* video, we are finally able to place you right in the middle of this unique and lively place. (Use your mobile phone and move around or swipe your finger to view this video in 360 degrees!)

Time Well Spent: From Jerusalem to Galilee
As our team finishes our final day in Jerusalem and prepares to travel up to Tiberius in Galilee tomorrow, we all have seen and experience things that we will never forget and feel blessed to be able to share many of those things with you in the future!

Bring out the GoPro! Finding a Creative Way to Capture Jacob's Well
Today, our team visited the traditional location of Jacob's well, the place where Jesus sat and spoke with the Samaritan woman. We were presented with a special opportunity and worked together to come up with a creative way to demonstrate the depths of this well.

Fathers and Sons Working Together in Israel
It's been an extra special trip for Jeremy and Barry, as each of them were able to bring one of their sons with them this year. Cianan and Samuel have each done a fantastic job settling into their roles within the production: helping the crew and shooting behind-the-scenes footage. Having family along to share the Bible lands has really been special!

Seriously Fun: Following the Messiah Bloopers
We have a hard working team; we're like family. While we are capturing some powerful content from these special places, we also know that it's important to have fun together and enjoy this incredible adventure with a few laughs!

Following the Messiah: Our Journey
It is no exaggeration to say that when compared to our first trip in 2016, this trip has been MORE. More team members, more scenes, more incredible footage captured, and more memories. We begin our journey back to the US tomorrow and we will not easily forget our time in Israel.
